EANNA Holland’s total of 1-3 in the second half was the difference between the sides in what was a close Junior Hurling Shield Final replay at the Carlow Town Hurling Club grounds on Thursday. It was tight all through with the sides tied at 0-5 each at the interval. Goal chances were few and far between with defences very much on top. With Mark Fitzgerald pushing the eventual winners a point in front early in the second half, the trend of the game remained the same as Carlow Town hit back with scores from Eoghan Townsend and a Brian Delaney free. Carlow Town looked to have taken a decisive step towards victory when Brandon Cassidy scored a goal and Townsend landed his second point. Then in stepped Holland for the equalising three-pointer and he followed up with a point. Cassidy hit back with a Carlow point but Holland was not to be stopped and by the time he was finished his side had secured their narrow win.
