We’re only now catching our breath after a whirlwind weekend of incredible hurling.
This group has made history - the club’s first ever Division 1 Féile hurling title, and the first time the parish has ever done the Féile double, following Davitt’s football win just a couple of weeks ago. A remarkable feat with c.90% of these lads playing on both panels. 💪
We had to do it the hard way since the get go on Friday evening. Narrow wins over Naomh Eoin and Burren Rangers set us up nicely for a semi-final Sunday morning against a fancied Carlow Town Hurling Club. But our lads played out of their skin, fighting for every ball with a refuse to lose mentality to earn a well-deserved spot in the final shortly after.
The final, again against Naomh Eoin, was a battle. We expected nothing less. We led, we fell behind, and with five minutes to go we were a man down and a point down. But this team refused to wilt. True champions dig deep when all around them start to doubt - Ethan Chambers stepping up to seal the win with a lovely score and the last puck of the game! 🔥
We couldn’t be prouder — not just of the win, but of the way these lads have carried themselves throughout.
Massive credit to our indefatigable mentors Niall, Gavin, Morgan and Tom who have always kept the faith and transformed this squad.
Congratulations to the full panel, your commitment and resilience are an inspiration. The future is bright. 😎
And to the ever-reliable parents - your constant support has been incredible...without it, none of this would be possible. Thank You.
Memories for a lifetime. 🇧🇭 💟
