Well done to our Junior hurlers who put in a great performance to reach the Shield final for the third year in a row. Thomas O'Donovan set the tone from the off latching on to a loose ball to hit the onion basket within the first minute. The young maestro went on to torment the Setanta defense with his jinky runs putting over some lovely scores. He was ably assisted by the evergreen James Kehoe, Jason Haughney and Martin Mullins upfront - the latter with arguably the score of the game - pulling the ball out of the sky from a puckout and launching it over from downtown.  Our midfield partnership of Liam Brennan & Darragh Fitz linked the play really well while Kealan Brennan & Wobbles were typically out in front and delivering good ball into the hard working forward line. Their wing men always on hand to mop up ball and find the man in space. We're very proud of this squad who despite losing a few to the first team have continued to show up in big numbers and make the most of this opportunity.

Finally a word of appreciation for Setanta. Short a few regulars last night, they battled and battled til the very end. Carlow hurling needs everyone pushing to grow the base and contribute to our county squads. We're thrilled to see Setanta (like ourselves) creating pathways for their younger players. That's what it's all about, providing opportunities for everyone to play, enjoy and experience this wonderful game.

Onwards we go to a county final in a couple of weeks time. Here's hoping our Intermediates can do the same later today 🇧🇭🙏.
