IHC Final Result:
Naomh Bríd 2-17
MLR 1-12
Now that the dust has settled on a phenomenal weekend, we can try make sense of it all. Two county finals, two victories and memories to last a lifetime. The sense of pride when captains Caoimhín Ryan (Junior) and Adam Dunne (Intermediate) lifted their respective cups yesterday was palpable. The seeds of both wins were sown last November when players and management sat down to plan out goals for 2025. A shared sense of ownership and a huge appetite to get back to winning ways resulted in a 12 month plan that everyone bought into. In stepped Rob Sheehan & Kieran Delaney who transformed the culture within the squad. No stone would be left unturned to give the lads every opportunity to succeed. It wasn’t always easy. We had tough outings in the KK league earlier in the season but lads never shied away…they kept showing up, wanting to improve. Numbers never dropped below 20 for any game and once all our county lads got back, we knew we had something special. Leaders were popping up everywhere and everyone was holding each other to account. The bond within this group is exceptional. It had to be. When you play MLR in a county final - in any grade, in any competition - they are ferocious. That’s what makes them such a special club. Thankfully we got the job done. We step up to Senior next year with a renewed sense of excitement of what’s to come.
With 90% of our players dual players, we wish them every success as they prepare for the upcoming football championships. A huge thanks to OL, Leighlinbridge and Ballinabranna clubs for their continued support throughout the split season. Meanwhile, we have a Leinster club c’ship to prepare for at the end of October but I think there might be a deserved mini break before that ramps up 😄.
Maith thú to everyone involved - so excited for what’s next with this group ❤️🇧🇭
