JHC Shield Final Result:
Naomh Bríd 3-7
Burren Rangers 1-7
A huge congratulations to our Junior stars who kicked off a wonderful weekend with a hard fought win over a dogged Burren Rangers side. That win made it 3-in-a-row Shield victories having picked up the same trophy in 2023 & 2024. This team has been flying all year and served as a real pathway to the first team. No fewer than 10 players (yes 10!) stepping up to play first team hurling through the course of the championship. It goes to show the strength in depth of this squad with youth and experience filling the gaps all over the pitch.
The game may not have been a classic but we still had plenty of classy hurlers on show. Wobbles & Puddy solid as a rock in defence, Kealan orchestrating from centre, ably supported by his wing men Cathal Brennan and Mike Glynn. Liam Brennan & Darragh Fitz had the legs at midfield while upfront old head James Kehoe led the charge, flanked by Martin Mullins, Jason Haughney and chief tormenter of defences, Thomas O’Donovan.
No doubt this victory had our Intermediates buzzing before they hit the pitch at 6pm Sat...most of these lads having trained together all year. What a way to start the day and finish the story of a real super saturday.
Well done to all players and of course Paddy Dermody and Adam Dunne on the sidelines. Maith thú, buachaillí! 🏆🇧🇭
