What a day we had at the hurling féile last weekend as we hosted teams from all over Ireland in O'Hanrahan's grounds & NCP outside pitch. Glorious weather, a feast of hurling and ice creams galore - what more could you want?! Our lads got off to a fast start with a good win over Knockbridge (Louth) followed by another strong win against Ederney St. Joseph's (Fermanagh) - showing no little skill and spirit in the process. All of that was needed in the 3rd game against Longford Slashers when a mighty battle between two evenly matched sides resulted in a draw. The result putting us through to the Cup semi final on a 1 point score difference against Cluainín Iomáint (Leitrim). The lads mustered all their energy to put in a fantastic performance in the semi final to come away with a well deserved win with some phenomenal displays, point taking and goal scoring on show.

A quick hydration break and it was time for the final...once again against Longford Slashers who came through on the other side. Down 1-3 to 1-1 at half time, our lads never gave in. They dug in, battling their hearts out when out on their feet coming up just short on a final scoreline of 2-4 to 1-6. The lads should be incredibly proud of their performances all day. They showed up with huge desire in each game and never stopped working for each other.  A bright future ahead for this group.

Lastly, this event couldn't have happened without our brilliant sub-committee led by Alan Twomey & Kara Dunne ensuring the day went off without a hitch.  A huge thanks to them and all our willing volunteers who came along to help out on the day 👏
