Naomh Bríd 1-22
Bagenalstown Gaels 1-15

As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. We would argue good things come to those who persist. It's been a minute since we last won a game in the senior championship (10+ years in fact!) but when it came at 7.30pm yesterday evening, it was all worth it. The sense of relief, the monkey off the back, the joy of players, management and supporters was evident for all to see.  Yes, it's just one win but it felt like more.

Full credit to the players and management. This was no fluke. A rejigged team due to a couple of injuries, then losing Tadhg O'Neill to injury after 5 mins meant this was always going to be a battle.

Going in 5 points down at half time and playing into a strong gael in the second half, it looked unlikely. But in that second half, our lads hurled like their lives depended on it. No backwards step. We've a young team and senior championship has taken some adjusting, but we now know we can mix it at this level. Seeing our young guns step up, fire over some wonderful scores and when Aaron Amond scored that rasper of a goal mid way through the second half, we could but hope. Full credit to Bagenalstown Gaels, they kept battling right to the end but our lads weren't for turning.

All to play for next weekend in the final round. 3 teams. 2 semi-final spots. Everything on the line.

Thank you for all your support yesterday evening - we'll need it and then some next weekend against Naomh Eoin.
